Lumping all fruits together into one category is not possible, however, we can figure out a rough estimate of the average amount of time it takes fruit to grow.

Today’s common gardening question: how long does fruit take to grow?

The answer: fruit takes between 1 month and 7 years to grow, start producing and be ready for harvesting. The most determining factors of how long fruit takes to grow include, of course, the species, and even more so, whether the fruit grows from shrubs, trees, vines, or plants. Berries for example take between 1 year and 3 years to start producing fruit, and pear trees take between 3 and 6 years.
