Gardening question of the day: How much light do beets need?
Answer: Beets require a medium amount of light; that is to say they need at least 6 to 10 hours of direct light every day. Full and direct sunlight is best for beets, though they will tolerate partial sun and even some shade. However, beets that receive less than 8 hours of light are less likely to reach optimal sizes.
