Gardening question of the day: How much light do potatoes need?

Answer: Potatoes require approximately 8 to 10 hours of sun each day to reach optimal growth and yield sizes. That way they are able to fully support the growth of their root systems and bolster top growth as well. They can handle part shade, but they need at least 6 hours of sun a day, and the more the better.
