Today’s Common Gardening Question: How much water do oranges need?

The Answer: Oranges require around 1 inch of water per week, in general. But, during the warmer parts of the year, or if you live in a hotter climate zone, oranges need at least 1.5 to 2 inches of water per week instead.

During the first season after planting an orange tree, water it with several liters of water each week (as much as 4 to 8 liters per day in some cases). Once it is fully mature, you may reduce water to once or twice per season (whenever you fertilize).
