Today’s Common Gardening Question: How much water do watermelons need?
The Answer: Watermelons require around 1 to 2 inches of water each week through their entire growth cycle. The water should be administered every several days, directly to the root zone of the plants, avoiding wetting the leaves.
If possible, keep your watermelon’s soil moist at all times (but not over saturated with water, just nice and moist – mulch doesn’t hurt).
